• Italy Trip Itinerary

This post is purely practical information about our itinerary, hotels we stayed in and transport we used during our trip. Ez csak egy praktikus infókkal teli blogbejegyzés az útvonalunkról, a szálláshelyeinkről illetve az igénybevett közlekedési eszközökről.

  • Naples

    Naples

Naples… the city, that everyone tried to discourage us from visiting by saying things like the buildings are in ruins, there is rubbish everywhere, it is controlled by the mafia and if you go there, you’ll be robbed, kidnapped, sliced up, etc. The downpour of discouragements was so successful, that we ended up spending only about three hours there while we were waiting for our train connection. Naples… the city, which ended up being one of highlights of our Italy trip. We liked it so much, that we had already decided we wish to return in the near future and explore it more thoroughly. Nápoly… a város, amitől mindenki csak elrettenteni…

  • Positano and Amalfi

    Positano and Amalfi

Positano and Amalfi, the two famous towns built upon the steep cliffs of the Amalfi coast are very successful in attracting tourists from the surrounding area. For example us. After spending a day visiting this neighbourhood, we came to the conclusion that both locations are stunningly beautiful and look awesome on the postcards, but… And here comes the but. I mean, more buts! Let’s see what happened. Positano és Amalfi, azaz az Amalfi part két igencsak híres, meredek sziklafalra épült települése sikeresen odavonzza a környéken tanyázó népeket. Köztük minket is. Egy napnyi téblábolás után a konklúziónk a következő: tényleg gyönyörű szép, képeslapra illő helyek ezek, deee… És itt jön a…

  • Pompeii and Herculaneum

Because both Will and I prefer to travel to places where nature is dominating and where tourism is less popular, Italy isn’t necessarily on the top of our potential destination list. But because my brother, Zsolt, and my (since then) sister-in-law, Zsóka decided to say “Yes, I do” on this ancient roman land, we ended up mixing business with pleasure and visiting a few famous spots. Obviously, one of these places was Pompeii. Instead of a long history and geology lecture I’d like to offer you a more practical guide full of information we would have really appreciated before our visit. Mivel Will és én leginkább olyan helyekre szeretünk utazni,…

  • Sorrento, Mount Vesuvius

Sorrento – The Land Where Lemons Grow

The truth is, that we didn’t really know much about Sorrento before our visit. A few years ago I saw some photos of the famous Valley of the Mills, which made this sleepy little tourist paradise become an additional item on my travel bucket list. During our stay, however, we realised that besides the mill ruins Sorrento has many other interesting things to offer. For example, this area is the country’s most famous lemon-centre and produces the tastiest Limoncello.
